Florida-based Carbon Capture & Commercialization Inc. said on Monday that the US Patent Office approved its technology within six weeks of its track-one application process.

According to a statement, the achievement validates the strength of CC&C’s direct air carbon capture technology and positions the company to address the urgent global need for effective carbon removal solutions.

The patent covers a proprietary adsorptive material and system architecture that allows for highly efficient carbon dioxide capture at under $100 per metric ton.

The mass-producible design can be deployed at scale near any high-density CO2 source, avoiding the high costs and logistical challenges associated with traditional carbon capture plants.

The statement said that the solution is apt for urban and industrial environments where CO2 concentrations are higher.

“We are delighted with the swift approval of our patent, which reflects the value and potential of our technology to transform carbon capture on a global scale,” said CC&C Co-founder Sam Adams in the statement.

“This milestone accelerates our journey to commercialization and positions us as a key player in delivering scalable, affordable carbon capture solutions for a decarbonized future.”

The company plans to introduce new features and enhancements to its DACC systems, further driving down costs and increasing capture efficiency.

“With this patent in place, we are prepared to bring our solution to industries and governments committed to tackling emissions today rather than waiting for tomorrow,” added Adams.
