Suzlon Energy, a leading global renewable energy solutions provider, announced on Monday that it has secured India’s largest wind energy order of 1,166 megawatts from NTPC Green Energy Limited.
The contract entails the installation of 370 Suzlon S144 wind turbine generators equipped with hybrid lattice tubular towers. These high-efficiency turbines will be deployed across three projects in Gujarat, India.
The order win significantly bolsters Suzlon’s order book, bringing its total backlog to approximately 5 GW as of Sept. 3.

Upon completion, the project will emerge as the largest wind energy initiative in Gujarat by a public sector undertaking, reinforcing the state’s position as a renewable energy hub.
The project will also contribute significantly to India’s energy self-sufficiency and economic growth, aligning with NTPC Green Energy’s ambitious target of adding 60 GW renewable energy capacity by 2032.
Suzlon will provide comprehensive project execution services, including wind turbine supply, erection, commissioning, and long-term operations and maintenance.
